I struggled around for almost 18 months before I realized that to have real success online, I needed to have my own product.

After I realized that, I created my first one… then another… and another… I started to get obsessed with product creation.

And that’s the topic of this newsletter is creating your own product. I’m going to show you 19 ways to create your own products quickly.

But, before I do, I wanted to talk about a few key things.

1st - don’t do all the work yourself (we covered this before when we talked about outsourcing)

2nd - the key is quality content… It doesn’t matter if you have to film in on your home camcorder or a recorded phone call… if the content is high quality - your customers will love you.

I paid $50 for a weightlifting DVD the other day, and when I turned it on… the opening scene was black.

Then you heard the guys wife say “I can’t see anything.”

A second later the guy said, “You’ve got to take the lens cap off honey!”

You then saw her take the lens cap off, and he started teaching.

Now, that was horrible quality, but the content was amazing. I ended up buying all 6 dvd in his series BECAUSE THE CONTENT WAS SO GOOD!

I know quite a few people who get caught up in making everything look too professional. I had one friend spent thousands of dollars filming and producing one DVD (which turned out very nice BTW) - but all of his budget was spent on that, and had no moolah left over to market the product.

He still hasn’t made his initial investment back.

My point isn’t to make products that are crap - but to create the highest level quality content as possible, and your subscribers will appreciate it. I’ve been going back now with all of my old products and now repackaging them now that I can afford to.

3rd - just do it. Remember from before my motto “Ready, Fire, Aim.” Get the product idea, create it and get it out there as fast as possible. Money follows speed, and if you don’t go fast you will loose out.

Another reason to go fast is because what if your product is a flop? Another important lesson is to fail fast. I’ve known one person who’s been trying to sell the same ebook for the 5 years I’ve known him with absolutely no success.

Like my friend Marlon Sanders says, “Dead ducks don’t quack!” If you have a dead duck - move on to something new - FAST!

4th - people pay different prices for the same content delivered in different ways.

What I mean is that you can sell an ebook for $27. Now, if you take that exact same content, record it into a “book on CD” - you can sell that same content (in a different format) for a lot more - usually $97 or more.

Now, let’s say you want to go to the next level… what if you took the audio, and the text, and combined them into a video. You could make a camtasia video that shows the bullet points from the book as the audio reads through them.

Or create an outline from the text, and record yourself teaching the concepts…

There are a million ways to switch forms of content - but just remember that people pay more for audio then they do text… and more for video then they do audio.

Ok - now that that is out of the way - let’s get to work.

Here are 19 ways to create a product:

1st - Software Creation - Creating software is one of the easiest ways to create a product fast. You can create something for almost any niche. I have one client who had a public domain book about dream interpretation - so he had someone create a software program for under $100 where the user could type in a word, and if found that interpretation in the book and displayed it for the end user.

2nd - Public Domain - this is one of my FAVORITES!!! These are “works” where the copyrights has expired. You are able to take these and re-package them and sell them as your own products!

3rd - Interviews - interview an expert in ANY field and sell the recordings and/or the transcripts. This is the best way to become an expert in any field - just interview the experts and people will see you as one of them.

4th - Seminar Videos - put on your own seminar, record it with a video camera and sell the footage.

5th - Re-niche content - if your selling a product (or bought rights to a product) - you can re-niche it for a different audience. Example would be if you sell a book about speed reading, re-niche it to “speed reading for students.”

6th - Book on CD - record yourself reading your book and sell it on cd.

7th - Resource CD - compile a list of resources for a specific niche, and sell the directory. I’ve personally bought resources on supplements directories and also one on “spy” stuff. (I know - I’m a geek)

8th - Recycle content - take products or content you’ve created in the past and re-use it. I’m using this blog post as a newsletter, an article, probably a chapter in a future book… Recycle what you’re doing now.

9th - Camtasia Video - this is one of the most powerful tools online marketers have. Create screen capture videos of anything you can do on your computer. Demos of software - PowerPoint slides, how to… anything computer related. Think how much moolah the “computer professor” makes by making “how to” videos for different Microsoft products.

10th - Idea collection - Combine a list of ideas and sell those. I’ve got friends who sell list of ideas on how to make money quickly, how to clean your carpets, how to take care of lawns, etc…

11th - Others experts submit content - get others to submit articles, or audios, or vidoes, and compile them into a product. I did this with one of my wrestling products. I had people submit their best stories, pictures and poems and compiled them into a product.

12th - Podcasts - like an online radio show that you can download. Have paid podcasts - or record a bunch, then take the recordings and put them onto CD’s.

13th - Membership sites - have residual income coming in when people pay you over and over again for access to your membership site. You can provide content in your membership sites - or create software programs that people have to pay monthly to use.

14th - Teleseminars - just record yourself interviewing someone or teaching on a subject that you know a lot about. The majority of my products were created with some type of teleseminar.

15th - Ghostwriters - hire someone (think outsourcing again) to write a book on a the subject that you want to sell.

16th - Free coaching calls - do free coaching calls for your members, track their progress, then compile the recordings into a product.

17th - Mastermind roundtables - get a group of experts together and have them discuss the subject - record the full thing and you’ve got an instant product!

18th - Private Label - similar to public domain, but usually created w/ the intent to sell w/out a copyright. A million ways to use private label stuff. Most people fail at this because they try to sell the content “as is.” Be sure to make it your own and you’ll have a ton of success with these.

19th - Case studies - one of the best products I bought this year is 12 hours of case studies. The people teaching the course compiled hundreds of casestudies for the subject we were learning about, and then explained how they all worked.

Ok - there’s 19 ideas. Hopefully that will give you an idea for your first product.

For beginners, getting into fitness can be intimidating and confusing. But it doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, getting fit is one of the most straightforward tasks you’ll attempt in the New Year. Fortunately, reaching your fitness goals requires only two things; discipline (that’s up to you) and a set of simple guidelines (which I’m happy to provide).

First, you should arrange for a full physical examination from your physician. This is mandatory for people that have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, or are obese. Once you have your doctor’s approval to begin a fitness program, you should schedule a fitness assessment with a health professional at your gym.

While both of these are incredibly annoying, they are essential to your success and well-being. The benefits of a doctor’s visit are obvious, particularly if you have one or more of the previously mentioned conditions but it also allows you and your doctor to discuss your lifestyle. Preventative medicine is far better than reactive medicine. Make your doctor part of your fat loss and health-building team along with the health professionals at your gym.

The real benefits of the fitness assessment aren’t finding out how much body fat you have or how many minutes you can last on the treadmill, but rather getting a better understanding of your strengths and weaknesses. If you want to avoid injury and actually achieve your goals this year, get to know your strengths and weaknesses.

The next secret is to walk, don’t run, to fitness success. If you want to pick up your University running workouts where you left them 10 years ago, that’s fine. But I guarantee you won’t last 10 days. And then it’ll be a dreary 355 days until you’re ready to try exercise again.

The hidden benefit of a good fitness assessment is that it will actually serve as a nice introductory workout to your return to fitness. It will buffer your delusions of fitness grandeur from the reality of what your body actually can do. After the fitness assessment teaches your body a lesson and awakens your muscles from their winter slumber, only then will you realize your limits that you must respect in subsequent workouts.

Goal-setting is the fourth secret to success (and not just in fitness, but in any area of life). It is much more effective to commit to a set of specific short-term and long-term goals than it is to routinely hope for weight loss each year.

Set realistic goals and remember to train within your limits. If you are currently sedentary and haven’t exercised in months (or years), don’t begin an advanced training program. Start with a conservative beginner program. Your belly wasn’t built in a day, and neither will be lost overnight.

Limit your initial workouts to 1 set per muscle group. In week 2, you should be ready to add another set. And if you want to build up to 3 sets, then do so in week 3. Slowly increase the weight and stay within your desired repetition range. At no time should you be too sore to function. And runners should also heed this advice. Too much running will guarantee shin splints in the early going. Avoid running on back to back days for the first two weeks and keep the distance short. Sore muscles are guaranteed when you lift. So keep the volume low.

And now for 2 super secrets that will help keep you committed and consistent with your workouts and will finally help you lose fat for good.

First, build your social support team. Social support is the #1 factor for success for women in fitness programs, and is important for men as well. Support can come from your spouse, brother or sister, child, mom or dad, friend, neighbor, co-worker, personal trainer, or lifestyle coach. Don’t try to go it alone. People respond better when they report to a person instead of a machine.

You also need to know that nutrition is the second most important factor for success in fat loss programs. That’s why you don’t need to train like a world-class athlete when you are starting to lose fat. Most of the fat you’ll lose in the early going is because you have chosen to make better nutritional choices. And if you don’t make better nutritional choices, even the best exercise program in the world isn’t going to help you achieve your fat loss goals.

Nutrition is a lot simpler than you think. Don’t over think things. See a nutritionist or listen to what your mother told you as a kid. Food choices should contain a large nutrient-to-calorie ratio. Dr. Phil (yes that Dr. Phil) calls this “High-Response Cost, High-Yield Nutrition”. And follow this rule: Don’t eat foods with added sugar or high-fructose corn syrup, but make sure to log your nutritional intake. This is a free website that allows you to track your calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat.

The consistent use of these 6 secrets will help you achieve your fat loss goals this year. Make this year’s fitness plan a strategic investment in your future health. The most efficient and effective way to lose fat in 2005 is with my Turbulence Training workouts - the choice of fitness professionals.

There are many sports experts out there that claim you can increase vertical height by using plyometrics alone!

Let’s see why this statement is untrue! There are many studies that prove that plyometrics are not the best way to increase vertical height!

An 8-week study found no significant improvement in long jump performance or vertical jump by 26 college-age subjects who performed depth jumps 2x a week (1).

Another study reported no significant difference in the vertical jump between a group training with an isokinetic leg press and a group training with depth jumps (2).

A study by Clutch concluded that plyometrics exercises (depth jumps of various heights) are no more effective than a regular jumping routine for increasing vertical jump and leg strength (3).

And yet another study showed no significant differences in the 40-yard dash and the vertical jump between a weight training group versus a group using plyometrics (4).

Another study found no significant differences in dynamic leg strength and leg power between a group who only performed maximum vertical jumps (from ground level), and two groups who performed depth jumps from varying heights(5).

And it gets even better, because a couple of other studies concluded that plyometrics have no effect on power development/performance (6,7). Yet another study found no significant differences in the vertical jump, the leg press and peak power of the quads between a group who performed a strength training program and a group who performed a strength training program and plyometrics(8).

But plyometrics might be good for one thing and that is causing sport injuries!

Cook and his coworkers noted the risk of injury associated with plyometrics (9).

Hutchins states that the use of plyometrics exercises is “irresponsible” (10). The most common plyometrics related injuries are patellar tendonitis (11,12) and stress fractures (11). Many others have questioned the safety of plyometrics.

Having said that, you can see why, plyometrics are not the best way to increase vertical height! There is absolutely no scientific basis to it- the scientific evidence proves it to bee harmful and not beneficial.

At best you can be injured if you do not have the necessary strength base! Having said that, it is imperative to develop a foundation of strength with strength/ weight training program before using plyometrics!

Plyometrics should be performed only if your body is strong enough to handle it.

Here are a few studies that prove that a plyometrics training system in combination with a strength training program can give you good results

In an issue of the Penn State Sports Medicine Newsletter there are numerous studies that prove this point!

One was of Finnish volleyball players (whose jump skills were already very good) who added plyometrics to their normal weight training. They saw an increase in vertical leap of 11%. There was also a description of a study done at the Human Performance Lab at Oregon State that compared plyometrics (jumps onto a box, double leg hops and split squat jumps) and squatting twice per week to one or the other. The squat only group increase vertical leap 3.30 centimeters. Plyometrics only showed a 3.81 cm increase and the combination training increased 10.67 cm which is a big difference.

My issue with plyometrics is that it has not been studied enough for the average person to take up this kind of workout. The height that people jump from has to be exact, the technique at which the land has to be as near perfect as possible, the coach has to really know what they are doing. If you are doing it from a book, then stay well away from plyometrics. If you have a qualified coach who has done this kind training and really knows there stuff, then go for it.

The Sweet Potato Queens’ Book of Love is an amusing book to read if you do not mind its risqué, even though inoffensive, phrases. The book is really about making choices when it comes to love, life, men, relationships, and marriage.

The queens, as the reader will know them, came into being during a 1982 St. Patrick’s Parade in Jackson, Mississippi, when they threw sweet potatoes to their fans. Later the queens held a meeting and decided to adapt stage names for themselves for the sake of anonymity.

The queens feel that “in any area of life, it is highly desirable to get other people–men–to do things for you whenever possible.” The queens have deciphered a lot about this world, in addition to what makes it go round, plus what a queen’s promise to a man is.

Some of their advice or ad-vices are: “Be particular,” that is, choose well. “Be prepared, on account of you-just-never-know.” “Educate your young, making sure you have the upper hand.”

The queens have quite a few guiding suggestions, some old, some new, like “the guy who said the best defense is a good offense was no dumbass,” and a queen must try to have five men in her life at all times in order to have the equivalent of one completely satisfactory man.

Fiancés and boyfriends, getting them or getting over them is another full chapter. Probably more than three quarters of the book is about men: men who love them; the man they are all looking for; men who signal danger; men who may need killing. Here the question is: “Is that a wedding ring in your pocket–or are you glad to see me?”

With all its kidding, naughtiness, and hilarity, “The Sweet Potato Queens’ Book of Love” is a serious book, giving serious advice from the pulpit of southern womanhood, concerning relationships and life in general. “Life is too short–and too long–to spend it being miserable. Life may indeed be short, but it is, for a fact, wide. It is high time we started settling for more.”

“The Sweet Potato Queens’ Book of Love” is in paperback with 240 pages and an ISBN of 0609804138.

The author, Jill Conner Browne, exercises and runs constantly and is a weightlifting instructor at the YMCA in Jackson, Mississippi. In addition, she writes for the Mississippi Business Journal using the pen name, Betty Fulton. She has several books in publication such as “The Sweet Potato Queens’ Book of Love,” “Sweet Potato Queens’ Field Guide to Men: Every Man I love is Either Married, Gay, or Dead,” “God Save the Sweet Potato Queens,” The Sweet Potato Queens’ Big-Ass Cookbook (and Financial Planner), and “Sweet Potato Queens Wedding Planner and Divorce Guide.”

Hence, if you are a woman, before you venture into printing your wedding invitations and before the groom says I do, this book will give you an upper hand in making a better selection. Even if it doesn’t, it will at least make you giggle and forget about any frustration you might be experiencing.

Hoodia Gordonii was introduced to the United States in 2004 as a weight loss herb. It has been around for thousands of years and has been used by the San people in South Africa for its ability to be an appetite suppressant while hunting. The Hoodia Gordonii plant looks like a cactus but is really a succulent that grows in the high areas of the Kalahari Desert. It is the weight loss herb for anyone looking to diet without hunger. Hoodia Gordonii is not a drug, it is an herb. It is a completely natural and safe herbal diet pill for weight loss that will not cause any stimulation.

There are many pharmaceutical firms that are trying to make a synthesized version of the Hoodia Gordonii plant, in order to patent it. But from all the research that has been done you must consume the plant or powder causal to achieve the weight loss you desire.

Since this weight loss herb has become so lucrative people are digging up anything that looks like Hoodia. Because of the high demand for Hoodia Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa have placed this herb on the Endangered Species list. This enables them to control the harvesting and exportation of Hoodia Gordonii.

To be sure you are purchasing only natural Hoodia, check if the company has two things that will guarantee it. First make sure they have a C&A, which is a Certificate of Analysis. This tells you that the substance has been analyzed and it is pure Hoodia Gordonii. The next piece of information you want to have about this herb is if the company has a CITES certificate, it is the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of the Worlds Fauna and Wildlife. The second line on the certificate will say “valid until (date)”, make sure it is still valid. These two pieces of documentation let you know that you are buying real Hoodia Gordonii. While there are several species of Hoodia, only Hoodia Gordonii is the herb with the appetite suppressant.

Hoodia Gordonii has a molecule that acts much like glucose on the nerve cells. It is an herb that tricks the brain into feeling full. In some trials it has reduced the appetite by hundreds of calories each day. The Hoodia molecule has been found to contain 10,000 times the molecule as glucose. The molecule goes to the hypothalamus in mid brain and fires the cells that signal your brain that you have had enough. This herb actually takes away your desire to eat.

Some of the qualities of Hoodia Gordonii are, losing an interest in food, longer periods of time before hunger returns, quickly feeling full, and a general over all good feeling. Plus the herbs added benefit is that there are no side effects.

There have been some people that say that their Hoodia Gordonii supplement works right away. Others have reported that it takes a two week regime of regularly using the herb for the appetite suppression to begin.

Hoodia Gordonii is not a miracle cure for obesity; I would be lying to say that. It will suppress your appetite, but use a little common sense. You should exercise, since it has been proven that diet and exercise go hand in hand. You should drink plenty of water to flush the fat and toxins from your body. Eating healthy will make your weight reduction much easier. Those items along with the weight loss herb Hoodia Gordonii will get you to your goal of a healthier lifestyle.

Here’s to success with the weight loss herb Hoodia Gordonii.

It wasn’t until I originally wrote this article about a year ago, for an old website I used to have, that I realized that I had something important to contribute to the bodybuilding community.

I had no idea when I wrote this article that it would single handedly raise the stock and notoriety of me as a bodybuilding writer. The other day while I was working on another website and someone asked me what happened to that article I wrote on shoulder injury?

Right then it hit me other people were getting hits and links for an article that I originally wrote. Now that I have www.Fire-Iron-Online.com I can start once again writing articles that are honest and informative. So here is a complete copy of my original article “Shoulder Pain the Cause”

This article addresses the causes of shoulder injury a common problem to athletes that participate in bodybuilding weightlifting and other weight assisted sports.

Most people think that the shoulder is a ball and socket connection much like the hip joint; nothing could be further from the truth. The shoulder is made up of two main bones the humerus the large bone in the upper arm, and the scapula the fan shaped bone of the upper back. The humerus is covered by cartilage which in a cartilage covered semi cup called the glenoid. This and the top boney extensions of the scapula make up a very fragile ball joint.

When its time to evaluate the shoulder muscles, most of the time we think of the shoulder muscles we think of the deltoids, and the trapezius. However the shoulder is made up of other lesser seen muscles whose development is essential to health shoulder joints. These lesser muscles are the Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus and the teres major, minor better know as the rotor cuff muscles. Below is the action of these muscles, there purpose, origin and insertions:

Supraspinatus: This muscle has an origin at the top of the scapula and an insertion at the top or superior facet of the humerus. This muscle initiates and assists the deltoid in the abduction (rising) of the arm.

Infraspinatus: this fan shaped muscle has it origin at the middle of the scapula it covers about 90 percent of the scapula and insert at Middle facet on greater tuberosity of humerus (the larger tube shape connection of the upper arm at the ball shaped top). The purpose of this muscle is to lateral lift the arm help to hold the humeral head in the glenoid cavity of the scapula

Teres Major: this muscle has it origin at the lower inside of the scapula and insertion is at the middle of the opposite side of the humerus, just below the humeral head. The purpose of this muscle is to abduct and rotate the arm across the body, as if your elbow was pointing down and just your forearm rotated across your body.

Teres Minor: This tiny muscle has its origin at the lateral boarder of the scapula just above the teres major, and its insertion at the Inferior facet on greater tuberosity of humerus. This little muscle has to lateral rotate the arm, and like the Infraspinatus help to hold the humeral head in the glenoid cavity of the scapula.

Not only to the rotor cuff muscle stabilize the shoulder they assist in moving the arm especially during internal and external rotation. However the ability of the rotor cuff muscle to stabilize depends on their strength in relation to the larger deltoids and trapezius muscles. The solution to shoulder pain is simple strengthen the rotor cuff muscles and the shoulder pain goes away.

But where did the pain come from in the beginning? Easy, when the humeral head of the upper arm is stretched in such a way that it separates form the glenoid cup, the rotor cuff muscles can no longer stabilize the shoulder. This would happen when doing stretching (I prescribe to the theory of never stretching the shoulder) or when an exercise that used the shoulder muscles are pulled from what I call an unnatural position (as in behind the neck pull downs).

There are only two other ways to working around this problem short of surgery, one is to modify your workout so that you are less likely to injury the shoulder; and two to do those exercises that can strengthen the stabilizer muscle of the rotor cuff. In my next article I will address modifying the workout to prevent shoulder injury.
